- fair use: the ability to use a small amount of someone’s creative work without permission, but only in certain ways
- commercial purposes: a use in connection with a business, usually for profit
# attribution (recognition of the licensor as the copyright holder of the work) - copyright: a law that protects a creator’s ownership of and control over the work he or she creates, requiring other people to get the creator’s permission before they copy, share, or perform that work
- Creative Commons: a kind of copyright that makes it easy for people to copy, share, and build on someone’s creative work – as long as they give the creator credit for it
- public domain: creative work that’s not protected by copyright and is therefore free for you to use however one wants

You may choose to prove your copyright know-how by making a Photo Story.
Use the Creative Commons website and locate photos to help you tell your story. Download the photos onto your flash drive. Open a MS Word document and keep the copyright information for all your photos there. Refer to this list when creating your Photo Story. Write appropriate captions OR record appropriate commentary and make sure that you give credit where credit is due! Save the Photo Story on your flash drive.
